CAREER APTITUDE TEST

Does Your Career Match Your Personality?

At DiscoverU, we firmly believe that when you enjoy the work you do, you find happiness, satisfaction, and success in your career. The key to a happy and fulfilling career therefore, is to match your fundamental interests with your occupation.

The DiscoverU Career Interest Assessment is designed to learn about your preferences regarding certain activities and to identify your unique pattern of interests. With an insight into your interests and job personality, we suggest career options that are best matched to your personality type.

Our career aptitude test is based on Dr. John Holland’s path-breaking Theory of Vocational Choice (also known as Holland Codes). Dr. Holland’s framework is the most widely accepted model for categorising and understanding individuals’ interests and job personalities. Dr. Holland argued that the choice of a vocation is an expression of one’s personality, and that individuals whose work is aligned with their interests experience greater satisfaction and success.

What do we mean by “Values”? According to the Life Values Inventory by Dr. Duane Brown and Dr. R. Kelly Crace, one’s values are the lenses through which they view themselves and their world. As values develop, they are crystalised and prioritised to form a values system. In essence, they form one’s own “personal truth” from which self-esteem, fulfillment, and resilience develop.

Values are an important consideration when choosing a career. Gaining insight into the values that influence your behaviour can help you clarify and prioritize your values and serve as a blueprint for future decision making.
